Wednesday, July 31, marked the five-year anniversary of our Legislature’s passage of the Global Warming Solutions Act, considered one of the most progressive pieces of legislation addressing the global warming and climate change crisis in the country.
As the administration recognized last week, the Global Warming Solutions Act, along with four other green laws that passed in Massachusetts in 2008 — the Green Communities Act, the Oceans Management Act, the Biofuels Act, and the Green Jobs Act — have set the commonwealth apart as a clean energy and green policy leader, and the results speak for themselves.
We are currently ranked No. 1 in the nation for energy efficiency and No. 1 for our capital investment in dollars per capita in clean technology.
