State Senator Marc R. Pacheco, D-Taunton, hosted Secretary of Transportation Richard A. Davey in Middleboro on June 13 to discuss the Route 44/Middleboro Rotary improvements project and to announce the makeup of the task force that will advise MassDOT on the project.
Davey spoke at the Boston Tavern Friday as part of the Senator’s Business and Economic Advisory Council meeting series, which attracted about 80 business, community and education leaders and representatives from Southeastern Massachusetts.
The Department of Transportation is moving forward with the Route 44/Middleboro Rotary project with the input of an advisory task force, which will include:
Middleboro’s Town Manager; a representative of the Middleboro Board of Selectmen; Middleboro's Town Planner; two Middlebororesidents at-large to be appointed by the Board of Selectmen; Bridgewater’s Town Manager; a representative of the Bridgewater Town Council; Lakeville’s Town Administrator; a representative of the Lakeville Board of Selectmen; Raynham’s Town Administrator; a representative of the Raynham Board of Selectmen; representation from the SRPEDD-Southeast Regional Planning and Economic Development District; representation from the Old Colony Planning Council; a representative of the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce; a representative of the Taunton Area Chamber of Commerce; MassDOT representatives, to be appointed by the Secretary; and legislators from Middleboro, Bridgewater, Lakeville and Raynham to serve as ex-officio members.
