DIGHTON — Dighton and Rehoboth teamed up on Monday for a display of patriotism and respect to U.S. soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The annual parade organized by both towns was held in Dighton this year, drawing veterans groups, active service members, youth sports leagues, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, fraternal organizations, a Native American intertribal council, town police and fire departments and other members of the community. Somerset Avenue was lined with families, seated in lawn chairs or standing on the sidewalk, many wearing red, white and blue and waving miniature American flags.
