MIDDLEBORO — The construction project to reconfigure the increasingly problematic Middleboro rotary circle will likely commence in 2017, the state secretary of transportation revealed to a local gathering of political and economic leaders last Friday at the Boston Tavern.
During a luncheon meeting of state Sen. Marc Pacheco's Business and Economic Advisory Council, Secretary Richard A. Davey announced the project is on schedule to commence in three years and to be completed by 2020. He was responding to a question from Allin Frawley, chairman of Middleboro's Board of Selectmen, who requested a specific "starting date" and "finishing date" from Secretary Davey.
After Secretary Davey answered, Frawley said the town and region were willing to pull out all stops to complete the project. "Anything we can do, just let us know," Frawley said.
